Look at the sweet animals!
No, really, let's talk about the podcast.
This is Lance. Like so many of us, I LOVED D&D as a kid. I didn't get to play that often, but I spent hours, days, WEEKS, reading and rereading the source books, making maps, drawing, painting minis, creating characters, and just......IMAGINING.
What to my wondering eyes should appear on a trip to a random game store in Atlanta in 2015? A NEW box starter set??! Sold. I read it and re-read it. And then it languished. Until 2018 when I found it on a shelf. I had recently gone through....well....some SHIT and was looking for a way to BECOME again, and I remembered all the joy I'd had as a kid, and asked myself if it would be OK to feel that again, and then I asked Regan if SHE wanted to, and we got some friends together, and.....we haven't looked back. We play a lot. And I enjoy, RELISH, every frickin' minute of it. |
Somewhere in this odyssey, we discovered the concept of duet play....one player and one DM. Living as we do in the country, far from any area where people who might like us actually live, it was difficult to play with a group nearly as much as we wanted to, and duet play let Regan try DMing too....and let me tell you, as a storyteller and mythographer, she's GOOD at it....and when COVID hit, things moved online, and we discovered we could just play D&D with each other any time we wanted.
So we do. Like a cantrip is a spellcaster's workhorse, what gets them through the encounter and the day, D&D is for us, and we wanted to create this podcast to share that with YOU. So thanks for joining us here. Let's make some sparks and some dope sounds! And hey......enjoy the pet pictures. |
